Our wedding website was an amazing tool to get the word out about our special day. I come from a graphic design background so I knew that I wanted a website that captured our love story but also had stylistic elements throughout the site like our wedding colors – gold, black, and white. After a bunch of research, we decided to use Squarespace for our wedding website. I’m used to WordPress for my blog so it was a bit of a learning curve to utilize the Squarespace templates. Once I got the hang of their interface I absolutely fell in love with their website making process. They even have templates that are dedicated to wedding websites with RSVP pages, registry pages, and more. I did have to pay for my wedding website but since I was a student at the time, I was able to score a discount on the price!
The gallery option was a favorite part of our wedding website because we were able to feature a variety of our engagement photos from Kismis Ink Photography. We also decided to feature our love story on the first page to introduce ourselves as a couple to our guests.
I really loved the different options that were available to use. We used the Alex template to display large photos and text on each page. I definitely recommend creating a wedding website for your special day – it is an awesome option to have to online RSVPs and it gets your guests even more excited for the big day!
