Wedding Wednesday: Where to Find Inspiration

Wedding planning is such a special and fun time but where do you begin to find inspiration? I’ll admit that even prior to getting engaged, I was definitely one of those girls that would come across beautiful dresses or tablescapes on Pinterest and yes I did create a future wedding board, haha! Once I began the wedding planning process, I received great advice from my vendors along with family and friends. Today I want to share my tips for finding wedding inspiration and I’d love to know in the comments section where you found yours!

During my search for winter wedding ideas, I came across several wedding websites and blogs that are dedicated to the latest color trends, ceremony ideas, and more. Some of the websites even have a search function that filters specifically what you are looking for (ex. garden theme, winter wedding, red color palette) and you can use their keyword search to also find inspiration. My favorite websites were Style Me Pretty, Ruffled, and Wedding Chicks.

Instagram was my favorite social media tool to find inspiration for my wedding. We went with a gold and ivory color scheme with hints of red, and let me tell you – finding red inspiration was not the easiest! Instagram’s hashtags made it so easy to find bouquet inspiration, hair ideas, and makeup tutorials for the big day. I was also able to check out my vendors on Instagram to see their latest work. Some of my favorite wedding Instagram accounts were Southern Weddings, Every Last Detail and of course my best friends and amazing photographers, Kismis Ink Photography.

Probably the most obvious place to find inspiration, Pinterest is full of great wedding ideas. I was able to look through the curated boards by BRIDES, Martha Stewart Weddings and Green Wedding Shoes to find endless inspiration. I also loved that I could create secret boards or collaboration boards with my maid of honor.

The best advice can come from your wedding planner and your vendors. Vendors can offer up recommendations for styles, themes, and even decor. Your wedding planner can also be an amazing resource to find out information about specific details, especially since they have done several weddings and are up to date with current trends in the industry.
