My Favorite Foundations

I was visiting a Bobbi Brown counter last year and received amazing advice from one of the associates about having a foundation wardrobe for different makeup looks. I now have a great collection of foundations for everyday wear, for evening out looks and for everything in between! I am a bit of a makeup junkie, but I definitely recommend having 2-3 foundations on hand for any of your makeup needs.

My advice would be to have a tinted moisturizer for those no makeup, makeup days, an everyday foundation for days at school/work, and then a medium-full coverage foundation for special occasions or nights out. Let’s get on with my roundup of favorite foundations!

favorite foundations

L’oreal Infallible Pro-Glow – This is the only drugstore foundation in my lineup but it holds its own against my high end foundations due to the coverage and glow it gives my skin! I love that it is buildable coverage and applies like a dream with a beauty blender or a brush. This foundation is perfect for everyday wear. My shade is 205 Natural Beige.

favorite foundations

Dior Airflash – Makeup artists use this foundation all the time for fashion shows and it gives a beautiful airbrush finish to the skin. I usually first spray the product onto the back of my hand and then use my beauty blender to apply it all over my face. My shade is

NARS Sheer Glow – Lovely coverage and gives a nice glow to the face without being dewy. This foundation is perfect for special occasions and it has a medium coverage. My shade is Fiji.

favorite foundations

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick – I fell in love with this stick foundation the minute the Bobbi Brown artist applied it onto my face. I love the fact that it’s a stick foundation because it is so easy to apply the product onto your face and blend it out with your fingers or a brush. I find this foundation to be a bit mattifying, so I recommend using a nice hydrating moisturizer underneath if you have dry skin. My shade is Natural 4.

favorite foundations

bareMinerals Original – My go-to mineral powder foundation. I go back to this foundation all the time when I want natural and flawless coverage. I love using mineral foundation because it blends so nicely with the skin and looks great on a variety of different skin types. This is my holy grail foundation for everyday wear. I am the shade Medium Beige 12.

favorite foundations

bareMinerals Complexion Rescue – This is my go-to tinted moisturizer for no makeup, makeup looks. I love that it evens out my skin tone and provides a nice natural overall coverage. If you have minimal skin issues, you could probably get away with just wearing this as your foundation. My shade is Natural 05.

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear – This foundation is the latest purchase in my collection. I kept seeing one of my favorite makeup artists, Marisa Rose, use it on her clients, so I had to give it a try. I love that this foundation is lightweight but has buildable coverage. You can go from day to night with this foundation and it doesn’t feel cakey at all. My shade is 250 Bisque W.

favorite foundations

bareMinerals BarePRO – If you haven’t noticed by now, bareMinerals is definitely one of my favorite makeup brands. My favorite foundation in their collection is this one. It is a matte foundation that provides medium – full coverage and lasts so long! This is another holy grail foundation for me. It looks so flawless on and I can wear it for any occasion. My shade is Warm Natural 12 in spring and Pecan 18 in the summer.
